Senior Spark Engineer

Our client, Superlinked is a startup founded in 2021 by seasoned professionals in the machine learning tech space. Funded by Tier-1 US VCs, in 2023 the company raised 9.5M USD to meet market demand and expand product capabilities. With offices in San Francisco, London, Tel Aviv and Budapest, they are in rapid growth. We are assisting with the recruitment needs for the team of over 10 senior engineers in Budapest.

Superlinked's scalable solution can crunch any combination of complex and unstructured data – whether that’s text, tabular data, images, graphics, or video – into a vector embedding, the data form used by AI. Paired with a vector database, Superlinked enables machine learning to be applied to enterprise data across any industry. • join the tech team in Budapest and participate in the framework development in Spark where the goal is to transform data into vectors for fast and real-time data processing. 
• identify and drive projects in-line with the company's initiatives and create solutions that fit industry best practices and technical direction set by the Architect.
• test the infrastructure and development processes, moving them to the deployment environment. 
• be responsible and act as a Subject Matter Expert of  Spark, PySpark, Dataproc, EMR .
• measure and improve performance and delivery.
• establish, follow and promote best practices to ensure quality solutions.

• has profound experience in Apache Spark in production, solving complex problems focusing on scalability and maintainability,
• is fluent in Python or Java or Scala (Python is preferred),
• has software engineering background,
• has knowledge about infrastructure as well (using GPUs, big data processing in Spark and GCP – DataProc, EMR),
• has experience in designing and building systems from ground up,
• has worked with complex data architectures,
• genuinly believes in knowledge sharing, and is able to provide technological guidance to their fellow engineers,
• follows and promotes new technologies and best practices to ensure code quality and quality solutions, 
• understands also the business perspectives of building a technology solution,
• speaks fluent English,
• preferably has previous work experience at a startup,
• preferably has experience in mentoring less experienced teammates.

Hybrid with office days on Mondays and Thursdays.

Work hours are flexible while always getting a response to your questions within the hour from 9-6pm.

Salary

Gross 2.4-2.800.000 HUF/month 

+ a generous employee stock option
