AI Engineer - GenAI / LLM

Grow Your Career in AI by working on real-world AI projects using Databricks

Our client, Revodata's mission is to bring digital simplicity to data and AI from development to production, leveraging Databricks as a comprehensive platform, enabling their clients to focus entirely on business value.

Revodata works with European companies to move beyond AI experiments and turn promising ideas into systems that solve real business problems. The company started as a small startup in the Netherlands and has grown to become a Databricks Gold Partner consultancy, employing around 30 people (by the end of 2026), with teams now expanding across the Netherlands, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

The timing is not accidental. The demand for GenAI has accelerated dramatically, but production AI depends on solid engineering, good data and systems that can actually be operated at scale.

That is where RevoData comes in.

As an AI Engineer, you’ll sit between experimentation and production. You’ll work directly with clients to design and build AI solutions — from LLM applications and RAG systems to agentic workflows — and turn them into reliable software that people can actually use.

We’re looking for senior, staff and principal-level AI Engineers to join the growing Budapest team.

Databricks experience is useful, but it is not a prerequisite. AI engineering experience, solid software engineering skills and a consultant mindset matter more.

What You will do as an AI Engineer

Your day-to-day work will depend on the client and project, but the common thread is taking AI from an idea to a production-ready solution, bridging the gap between experimentation and solving real business problems.

  • Design and build scalable GenAI/LLM pipelines and applications in production.

  • Build and integrate AI capabilities into existing systems, making sure the AI layer works within the wider technical architecture.

  • Evaluate whether an AI solution actually works, rather than relying on demos or subjective impressions.

  • Work directly with clients to understand what they are trying to achieve, challenge assumptions and translate business problems into technical solutions.

  • Write production-quality Python code and work with data and supporting systems where required.

  • With Staff / Principal level background, provide technical direction beyond implementation, helping shape architecture, guide decisions and raise the quality of AI engineering across projects.

  • At Principal level, bring additional value to the client and RevoData beyond the immediate delivery, whether through identifying opportunities, coaching engineers, contributing to business development or improving internal practices.

Projects usually take from a few weeks to a year.

What We’re Looking for in a Senior/ Staff/ Principal-level AI Engineer

  • You've built AI systems that run in the real world: You have experience across the full lifecycle - from early experimentation to deployment and monitoring - and understand what it takes to make AI systems reliable in production.
  • You're experienced with LLMs & GenAI: You've moved beyond simple prompts and have built production-grade GenAI applications, including RAG architectures, agentic workflows, and fine-tuning, using platforms like OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure AI, or similar.
  • You're comfortable with GenAI frameworks: You've used tools like LangChain, LangGraph, Pydantic AI, Hugging Face, or DSPy, and understand how to structure and orchestrate AI-driven applications beyond simple prototypes.
  • You're evaluation-driven: You don't trust "it seems better." You establish a baseline, define metrics that actually capture the failure modes that matter, and iterate against them - so you can show with numbers that a change to a prompt, retrieval step, model, or parameter genuinely moved the needle.
  • You understand LLMOps & MLOps: You understand that AI is only as good as its lifecycle management. You're comfortable with experiment tracking, model versioning, observability, and deployment (e.g. MLflow or comparable tooling), and you know how to build automated pipelines that handle monitoring, evaluation, and CI/CD for both traditional ML and LLMs.
  • You can work with data and build scalable pipelines: You've worked with data in real environments and understand how to design training and inference pipelines that scale with usage and complexity - and work reliably in production.
  • You're a pragmatic Python Engineer: You have extensive experience with Python and its data/ML libraries, and you write clean, testable, well-structured code. You favour focused, self-contained solutions over sprawling ones, and you know what not to build under real-world time and budget constraints.
  • You're comfortable working in the cloud: You've deployed or worked with AI solutions in environments such as AWS, Azure or GCP, and understand the basics of building and running systems there.
  • You have a Consultant Mindset and client-facing communication skills: You enjoy being client-facing. You don't just execute; you advise. You can translate a vague business challenge into a technical roadmap and lead a project from scoping to delivery. You can explain the "why" behind an architecture to a CTO while pair-programming with an engineer to debug a pipeline.
  • You value strong autonomy and end-to-end ownership: projects can involve working independently or as part of a very small team. You should be comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility for your choices.

  • You speak fluent English: you’ll work with international clients and colleagues across Europe.
  • You are a resident in Hungary.

Databricks experience is a plus, not a requirement.

You do not need to be a Databricks expert to join the AI team.

RevoData will give you the opportunity to build that expertise through hands-on project work, certifications and exposure to the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on Databricks experience

  • Databricks AI or Machine Learning certification

  • Experience with MLflow, LLMOps or MLOps (evaluation, monitoring, observability)

  • Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or other deep learning frameworks

  • Dutch or another European language

 Sounds good? Apply!

Why Revodata?

You’ll work on AI projects where the technical challenge is connected to an actual business problem.

Projects vary significantly: from building AI capabilities into existing data platforms to developing new GenAI applications, agents and workflows. That variety is intentional. RevoData does not specialise in one industry, which means you get exposed to very different business processes and technical environments.

The organization is flat and deliberately low-ego. Revodata's company culture strongly emphasizes offering learning and development opportunities, encouraging ideas, and allowing freedom for professional growth.

What Revodata offers

  • Hands-on AI experience across diverse business use cases

  • Remote work with an international team

  • International client exposure

  • Regular workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions

  • Access to Databricks, cloud and AI learning opportunities
